The REDD Research and Development Center held a sub-session entitled "Forest carbon monitoring system at national and sub-national level for developing compliance scheme under bilateral cooperation and then UNFCCC" during the Issues Marketplace at Forest Day 5 (which was held on the sidelines of the 17th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change). During the session, Mitsuo Matsumoto made a presentation on the guidelines and methodologies under the development of REDD-plus and Andreas Langner on a technology of satellite imagery analysis for forest carbon monitoring. The session provided an opportunity for concerned people to exchange opinions.
